The Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 38 of 2001 (FICA), came into effect on 1 July 2003 and was further amended by the FICA Amendment Act 1 of 2017. FICA was introduced to fight financial crime and was amended to put South Africa’s legislative framework in line with international standards.
 
How do FICA regulations affect me?

The primary purpose of FICA is to protect individuals and companies by eliminating the possibility of money laundering through financial transactions. Further to this, FICA aims to ensure that companies (Accountable Institutions) such as Portapa (Pty) Ltd t/a SUPABETS (SUPABETS) know with whom they are conducting business. In compliance with section 21 of FICA, SUPABETS must identity and verify the identity of customers who open online accounts with SUPABETS. By opening an online account with SUPABETS, you accept and provide consent to SUPABETS and/or its affiliates to verify your identity and address.
 
For you to enjoy the protection that comes with FICA, it is important to ensure that you are FICA compliant. For your account to be FICA validated and compliant, you will need to send us an email with your username and attach the following:
 
1) A copy of your South African ID, or passport. *All black and white copies must be certified.
 
 
2 Proof of residence.
 
 
The following documents will be accepted as proof of residence documents:
 
  • A utility bill
  • Bank statement with device stamp (no teller stamp required);
  • A recent lease agreement;
  • A rates and taxes account
  • A Telkom telephone account
  • A mortgage statement
  • A recent SARS return/IRP5
  • A recent insurance policy document
  • A store account statement;
  • A Residential Affidavit from a police station or a
  • A Confirmation of Address letter from the ward councillor (local municipal offices).

If all required documents are correct as per our requirements, the FICA process takes a couple of minutes, (1 hr maximum) to be completed.

Yes we do, a bank statement without a teller stamp is accepted for FICA and withdrawals purposes.

If all is in order with your account for example; If your FICA documents and account has been validated and the proof of deposit was sent to [email protected] together with your SUPABETS username, the deposit will be credited to your account within 24 hours.

Should you not use your username as a reference and should you not email the proof of deposit, the deposit will not reflect in your account immediately.
If all is in order with your account for example; if your FICA documents and your account has been validated (accounts that have not yet been validated still accept deposits), the payment will be made within 24 hours unless it is interbank transfer like FNB to Capitec then the funds can take up to 3 days to reflect in the clients account.

Select your desired method of withdrawal. Click on the One Time Pin logo, a drop down will display an "amount" block. Enter the amount and click "generate". This generates a unique code. Take this code to any SUPABETS South Africa branch and receive your money instantly. Please ensure you take your ID.
 
We are also able to deposit your winnings directly into your account by email. Send an email to '[email protected]' with your username, the amount you wish to be deposited and your banking details.
 
PLEASE NOTE for withdrawals over R25 000 you will also need to resend your FICA documents.
 
 
Users who requests a withdrawal via email or bank transfer withdrawal must make sure of the following:
  1. Email withdrawal request must be sent from the email they registered their account with.
  2. In the body of the email users must include the following
    • The username/ ID

  4. The Residential address on the proof of residence should match exactly to the one on our system.
      NB:
    • We do not accept, e-stamped, ATM or internet statements
    • We do not pay into any third-party bank accounts
    • No documents should be older than three months
    • The information on the documentation must agree to the documentation that was submitted for FICA.
    • The same documentation will be required for Bank transfer withdrawal requests
    • Even if documents were submitted for FICA, we will require the above documentation to be forwarded again.
Please note that the above is a security measure to ensure that we pay the correct User to the correct account number.
If the amount is less than R25,000.00 it takes 12 hours if payment is being made to an FNB, Nedbank, ABSA or Standard Bank account. If the account is at any other bank, it can take up to 3 working days to reflect in the account.
 
FICA documents must be submitted for any amount greater than R24,999.00. Once all the correct FICA documents are received, payment will be done within 24 hours.
 
Amounts greater than R49,999.00 will take at least 3 working days to be processed.
No payments above R25,000.00 will be processed over weekends.

Funds are paid into the ewallet and the cellphone number is the main access mechanism for withdrawing. Therefore, in the event of cellphone numbers changing or being lost, users need to notify the support team via email to: [email protected].   7. You will receive an SMS with an ATM PIN.
  8. At the FNB ATM, press the green button (enter/proceed) on the keypad OR select Card-less Services.
  9. Select eWallet Services.
  10. Key in your cellphone number and select Proceed.
  11. Key in the eWallet ATM PIN you requested and received via SMS.
  12. Choose your cash amount.
  13. Make sure that your transaction has ended or that you press “Cancel” before leaving the ATM.
 
Please note if a client suspects any strange activities on their wallet, they need to contact FNB and protect their wallet from being accessed without their permissions.
